| To a Friend |
| Here are two versions of this poem. The one at the far right was supplied by Linda Mullins, daughter of Elsie Barnett's daughter Catherine. The handwritten original did not have a title. | It is enough for me, dear friend, To know that I have you, To know for me a prayer you’ll send, Whenever I feel blue. The evening sky’s more full of stars, The morning sun more bright. And even thru the darkest hours There shines for me a light That keeps me calm, serene, & sure, God’s way is always best, And for whate’er befalls my path, His Grace is manifest. | It is enough for me, my friend, To know that I have you; To know for me a prayer you’ll send, Whenever I feel blue.
